A young, hot Patrick Stewart with hair (ok, from a toupee) is dressed as a Roman soldier called Sejanus in the highly acclaimed 1970s Masterpiece Theatre & BBC miniseries. Stewart's powerful performance was Shakespearean in quality; it was early in his acting career. His character was evil, cruel, lustful, murderous, and incredibly sexy. It might have been Patrick Stewart's breakout role.
It was! So many truly memorable performances. Of course, for many young people with modern sensibilities, the low production values and occasionally glacial play-like pace would be a turn off, but I was awed when I saw it as a kid.
