Weirdly the Universal Declaration of Human Rights doesn’t ground human rights. It just declares them based on faith. Not great for #Humanists or the non-religious.
To robustly defend #humanrights we need a scientific, real world basis for them (and yes of course it’s #sentience 😊)

By virtue of animals being "sentient" (feeling & conscious) - they have the right not to be violently assaulted by those who CAN be #vegan. It's not a necessity for humans to enslave, harm, and kill #animals.

Even from a young age, I never believed in human supremacy. I suppose that's why I stopped eating animals at age 12. I'm now 67. I don't think we have a right to violently assault, enslave, exploit, commodify other #animals. We're animals, too.
