Shinsou sinks into cloud crash when he overuses his quirk, his own neurons quieted into a coma.
Aizawa is the first person not to panic as he cradles Shinsou's tender mind in strong hands, murmurs, "You're going to be fine."
He's the first person Shinsou believes.

Shinsou sees what it's like to never look away, how Aizawa always keeps his eyes open, staring into a void.
He does the same but his voice wavers upon gazing into hell, small.
But it soothes him when Aizawa closes his eyes, forehead pressed against Shinsou's, murmurs, "Glad to be home."

Aizawa grunts "again" when Shinsou kisses his gray-flecked hair, smiling to himself as they lie in bed together.
"As many times as you want," he murmurs.

He wakes up to an amused gaze. "You fell asleep, kid."
Shinsou pushes his face into that black river to inhale something familiar, knowing he won't drown.
