Contrasting genetic predisposition and diagnosis in psychiatric disorders: A multi-omic single-nucleus analysis of the human OFC Genetic risk and diagnosis for psychiatric disorders influence gene expression and chromatin accessibility in brain cells.

Beyond diagnosis: Nathalie Gerstner mapped gene expression and chromatin accessibility in the orbitofrontal cortex, to explore how genetic risk for psychiatric disorders shapes brain cells and differs from clinical diagnoses. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... #Genomics #BrainCells #SingleNucleus

Unveiling adipose populations linked to metabolic health in obesity Metabolic disease risk in individuals with obesity is variable and influenced by so-far-unknown factors. Reinisch and Ghosh et al. uncovered distinct cell populations and transcriptional programs in adipose tissue that are strongly linked to metabolic disease. The findings suggest that visceral adipose tissue plasticity is key to maintaining metabolic health despite excess adiposity.

Alright, naive question time.
Random Priming & Extension is the standard method for transcriptome-wide sc/snRNAseq.

There has to be a transcript length bias, right? Right?
Anyone aware of any study of this and/or ways to adjust counts for it? #singlecell #neuroskyence #singlenucleus #bioinformatics
