I'd never heard of this so we gave it a spin and watched the 2nd episode straight after because it's excellent.
Paddy Considine from MobLand is the co-star.
Chris O'Dowd from The IT Crowd & Bridesmaids created, wrote and directed it. His imagination is more out there than mine.
Late night telly update: enjoying The Feud on 5; hilarious: new series of #GangsOfLondon is superb, then final ep of #SmallTownBigStory, which was super fun. Doing some #CornerGas now #RichardWatchesTheTelly
The Turd Man: Decent conclusion to the first season. The fake show I Am Celt is hilariously hokey, and the alien plot reaches a neat conclusion, with Catherine nearly abducted and an encounter with an alien. I didn't expect it to go so deep on the sci-fi. #SmallTownBigStory
The Pen Is Mighty: Not sure it's as good as the previous episode, but still fine. The author turning out to be a ghostwriter is a fun twist, and Seamus losing his profession as a doctor because of his abduction claims escalates the drama well too. #SmallTownBigStory
Onto #SmallTownBigStory, which is getting even more fun, plus #Hacks possibly the funniest show on the telly. Yer man Kaitlin Olson improves absolutely everything she is in: (btw, hate the ads on Now TV, which I also pay to watch, not least because it is the same terrible ads)

Saw the first two episodes of #SmallTownBigStory, a TV show constantly trying NOT to zoom-in on #ChristinaHendricks’ massive boobs. But that’s difficult, because her tits fill the screen whenever you film below her neck. Instead, we’re often treated to a view of her (non-nude) hourglass figure. Ⓐ

An Dobhar Who?: This one is probably the best one so far. There's some good laughs, with Seamus's patients taking the mickey out of his alien confession, and Big Jim's struggles with the intimate sex scene with his co-star. It's the episode that most shows this programme's #SmallTownBigStory

Malgré toute ma sympathie pour O’Dowd, et pour Hendricks, et pour l'Irlande, #SmallTownBigStory ne m'a pas arraché un sourire et ne semble pas vraiment savoir ce qu'elle veut raconter, ni même sur quel ton.
