"Hidden Gems: Small Vtuber Awards - Update I wanted to do this update in the form of a video, to properly convey my thoughts and feeling clearer than a written statement, however I just don't have the heart to bring myself to record. 2025 I spent my many months learning to code, writing scripts and putting together new methods of processing the tens of thousands of submission data received each year for the Small Vtuber Awards. When nominations closed, it quickly dawned on me, that the scripts I wrote would not work on such a large scale. I began manually sorting data and checking eligibility of every nomination, it's a long and grueling task required to make the show happen. December my father took ill and was hospitalised in ICU and though I will not go into details, he is now okay but we are no longer speaking, meanwhile my beloved rescue cat Saxon fell progressively more ill with heart disease followed by cancer before passing in January. It's safe to say, it's been a crappy winter. Though I got a promotion at work and whilst fighting this stress and my chronic illness flareups, I simply burnt out and could no longer keep up with content creation and working on the Small Vtuber Awards. It is with a heavy heart, I am cancelling the Hidden Gems: Small Vtuber Awards 2025 and the proceeding year of 2026. It is with the hope I can redirect this energy to getting back to content creation (eventually) and to put my time and money towards proper systems to handle the masses of data for the awards. Every year these awards have come from my own pocket without sponsors or support. The goal is to elevate the awards to something bigger and continue making a positive impact on our community. It's been an honour to have created this space and to have empowered others to start their own awards shows regardless of size. I understand many only follow me for the awards, I am sorry to have let you down. My heart is full and hurting, but I am still cheering you each on individually.…
