How Ironic Look at where we're at today: #SocialSecurityAct was signed by FDR on 08/14/1935. Taxes were collected for the 1st time in Jan 1937 and the 1st one-time, lump-sum payments were made that same month. Regular ongoing monthly benefits started in Jan 1940.
The cap is regressive and patently anathema to the intent of the #SocialSecurityAct.
Under the #SocialSecurityAct, if you are not a U.S. #citizen, you cannot receive payments for the months you lived in #Cuba or #NorthKorea.
By requiring IN the #SocialSecurityAct that the #OASDI Trust funds be invested in ONLY special US Treasury Bonds created just for them; which keeps our collective SS retirement money as safe as the United States of America itself.
Unless we allow some jacked-up, would-be-king to destroy us.
