Shading details are an element that i wanna add to each redesign of mine, for Sonic here i gave his tan parts simple shading, but for the blue i added a bit of hatching, implying the blue is quills and the tan is skin.
This detail will carry onto other redesigns with different patterns of hatching depending on if it's furr or scales, etc.
Gloves have a line showing shine and have rim lighting on parts of the shading. the changes: he's actually Metal Sonic 3.0, just rebuilt to be a good guy, here's how. Metal Sonic 3.0 was destroyed in the end of Rivals 2, one day Silver decided to look for Eggman Negative about his absence in Chaotic Inferno (he did somehow escape but forgot to bring his robot). Silver notices that the robot was destroyed, but he decided to bring it to Tails' workshop bc he had an idea of rebuilding it to be a good guy (in which he becomes Shard) i kinda fucked with this headcanon so i made it a reality in my AU! aside from that he got purple shoes & a scarf. also note that this is kinda where his rivalry with Metal Sonic begins. rip the gem on his chest btw, tho the reason is i have no idea what type of gem it is (it's use is cool tho i won't lie)
