Got my bill from #SouthWestWater. It helpfully tells me that my bills are going up, but not how much by. It also says that "Most customers agree" that "it's the right thing to do".

This is surprising. I wonder what they asked them. I wonder what they said about their own performance. #water #ukpol

Yesterday afternoon our very steep cul-de-sac had some piece of paper shoved through the door, informing us that they will be closing the road today for some work. There is no leak or any other emergency, they did some work at exactly the same spot a few months ago... So less then 24 hour warning - not cool!!! I'm not overly impacted, but a lot of people in the road are elderly and rely on their cars to do the shopping. So today 3 vans turned up - at least one from York (guess we do not have anyone closer who can dig up a road? Or is SWW just happy to waste our money?)

They dug a big hole which is not passable on either side by car. They left late afternoon, saying the hole will be closed again in 'a few days'... So beside my neighbours further up the road , as well as me , not being able to drive their cars to their houses (and possibly not able to get shopping done, attending appointments etc) , what if there is an emergency and someone needs an ambulance? What if there is a fire? Guess South West Water cares just as much about us as they care about our environment: not at all!
