A Cob cartoon in the 'Imber Courier' magazine, named after Imber Court, showing a puny basketball player in vest and shorts being easily picked up off the ground by a tall hirsute man in a kilt, whilst the latter bounces a basketball with his other hand.
In May 1968 a Met team set off from Cannon Row police station to join a basketball competition north of the border, where they attributed their poor performance to injury and "the Scotch beer and whisky".

Two men in light-colored clothes with hats, holding tennis raquets in front of a net, with a partially-constructed building in the background
Black and white photo of five people with tennis raquets. Women are in knee-length skirts with opaque tights. Men are in dress shirts with ties.
We love these tennis pictures. They show off tennis's wide popularity - it was for everyone. For those with keen eyes, you can also see one of the Admin Building wings under construction.
Group photo: date unknown, likely 1910s or 1920s
Pairs photo: early 1910s

Hand-coloured engraving of a cricket match, in which all the players are women. The text below the image reads: 'On Wenesday [sic] October 3rd 1811 a singular Cricket Match took place at Balls Pond Newington. The players were 22 women, 11 Hampshire against 11 Surrey. Well how about a film simply called "SPORT in Northern Ireland"?
All the sports you want and then some in this colourful 1971 film from the NI Tourist Board.
And as always, below the film itself are links to even more sports. You'll be tired just watching it all!

Combining #ArchivePast & #SportArchives with this marvellous photo of some of my WWII-era predecessors from the then-PRO playing cricket. (Yes, they are wearing gas masks.)
