Hero the schnauzer sniffs at a cake that is looking bare of (dog safe) icing on one side. It is clear the cake has been sampled, but is beautiful in pink and blue and yellow and green nonetheless. There is a star shaped biscuit with a “2” on the front. Hero is ready to monch.

A little joy for the internet: Hero the #standardschnauzer had her birthday party at daycare today. They very aptly Hero themed it.
They sent her home with the cake (which I am freezing some of and hope to share with the neighbour dogs).
I am crying this is the best way to spend grown up money.

Skeleton Hero lays comatose on the carpet, possibly wishing she could have all the bones, but philosophising that she comes with her own set of forbidden chomps.
I’m not usually someone who dresses for Halloween. I am, however, someone who apparently loves matching their dog in clothing solidarity. Hero loves dressing up, and so every time there’s a theme day at puppy daycare, she steps up like the amazing #Standardschnauzer she is.

The tide begins to turn. Hero still on Shauntelle’s lap, but head turned dramatically to lick Shauntelle’s face.
Things are not good. Shauntelle looks horrified at the camera while Hero begins her campaign to eat Shauntelle.
The campaign continues - Shauntelle attempts to escape the fury of Hero, who no longer wants to sit calmly in a chair. The cameraman does nothing but document the assault.
If I’m ever talking to you through a text conversation and I suddenly go silent, 85% of the time it’s because my #standardschnauzer Hero has decided I have had enough screen time and we must either have cuddle time or touch grass.
I will be back ASAP, but she (apparently) makes the rules.
