Memorial Chapel from 1922. Coursed, squared rubble construction with thatched roof, gabled west. Round apse and north transept. Small wooden bellcote. Thatched wooden north porch. Windows are lancets with diamond pattern leaded-lights in graduated triplets to the nave.

Red brick church with square tower to left. Stairs go up from street level through steep churchyard that's bound at street level by short stone wall with railings and an entry to stairs with decorative columns and iron gates. Above the churchyard, the south side of the church has a black doorway beside the tower, and to its right four short windows at the lower level placed high along that section of wall. Above a white stone strip are five taller round-arched windows above the door and short windows. The tower has one of each sort of window in line with others, plus a clock and a long, two part square window at the top. Windows and door are bounded by white stonework surrounds as are corners of the tower. The steep churchyard is indicative of the steepness of the river bank of the Thames here. The church's parishioners have included William Shakespeare, the composer John Dowland, playwright Ben Jonson and portrait painter Sir Anthony Van Dyck.

In C13 was St Andrew juxta Baynard Castle as Med fortress was opposite. Name changed 1361 when royal stores moved nearby from Tower.
1666 Gt Fire destroyed Church+Wardrobe; church rebuilt by Wren.
Gutted in WWII, restored.
