Acknowledging the multilateral system is broken, many speakers at the #SummitOfTheFuture said the Summit should be seen as a last-ditch effort to turn the tide and reimagine a system of global governance that works for all.

On the heels of the UNGA's #SummitoftheFuture, Nobel Laureates, medical and scientific leaders, and notable public figures come together with one common voice to call on world leaders to act with the urgency this moment requires and step back from the brink of global catastrophe.

At both #climateweek and #summitofthefuture I can't help but notice lots of reference to 'we need science to help us' -- then exactly zero attention to what social scientists are doing. There is HUGE disconnect b/w social science research on climate/biodi financing and what is actually happening 🤷‍♀️
