Really late to this week's #SundayPixBooks but I've got Book spine poetry, a literal book spine with a bat on it, and 'You are limitless'... never truer.

Looking at the #SundayPixBooks feed has got me to thinking about the importance of stories in my life (I tend not to read non-fic).
Some of my earliest memories involve books: from kids' picture books to mum reading 'harder' books aloud to us. Dennis the Dragon and Swish of the Curtain!

A beautiful interior drawing in the same green color of two barefoot boys in overalls, sitting & lying on a riverbank under a tree while fishing with a pole made of a tree branch. There's a steamboat chugging up river, with steam trailing from its stacks.

Title page. The paper is aged and the edges are a darker color. In small print between fancy doodles is written: This book, while produced under wartime conditions, in full compliance with government regulations for the conservation of paper and other essential materials, is COMPLETE AND UNABRIDGED.

An old edition of Tom Sawyer; I'm unable to find the publishing date, sadly, but it was produced during wartime conditions.

My O.H. gave me this little leather bound book. It's really simple construction and the handmade paper pages r short thru with gold shreds. It's got no need for words. It's a lovely thing in itself😁

I have spent most of today thinking it is Monday. 🤦
Anyway, I can't do a #SundayPixBooks properly because most of mine are still in storage and I do rather begin to despair of ever getting them out.

A small, shiny dark blue bag with pale blue handles is sitting against a floral cushion.
On it are the words:

When I get a little money, I buy books.
And if there is any left over, I buy food.
– Desiderius Erasmus

At the foot of the bag is the name of the bookshop it came from: BLACKWELL

But here's a pic of something a friend sent me when I pubbed the ramblers
