RRS Discovery (RRS=Royal Research Ship) It’s a 3 masted sailing ship that also has a steam engine. It was built in Dundee and has returned there to a fine museum. It’s the ship that Robert Scott used on his ill fated expedition to the South Pole.

Last week I didn’t play #SundayPix #SundayPixCity because I couldn’t remember the last time I visited a city & took pictures. I didn’t think I was going to be able to play #SundayPixBoat this week. Then realised I could search my pictures. The RRS Discovery in Dundee.

Oops, this is not the Sacre Coeur, but a far more impressive building called Les Invalides as someone in my comments has let me know. Originally this was built for disabled soldiers and is still a retirement home for them, and includes a museum and various other monuments. #SundayPixCity

It picture of city, where Troop were once, just there. It is big city full of noise, but it nearly night time and the sky is dark like indigo, before it get to black. And it raining.. all the city wet, the people dashing past in cars. The pavement, made of stones, big square stones, laid flat for standing on. Place where people walk, hundreds feet that trample, day on day. But for now, this moment, the feet are gone.. and the stones are beautiful, in golden lamplight, rock swirls shine, polished by the rain
