Seen from above (from another hilltop town), a gently rounded hill in Morocco is totally covered by buildings. Most are flat-roofed and white or cream, but a couple of large buildings in the foreground have dark green sloped roofs. Tree-covered hills/mountains are in the background.

Because I didn’t see anyone else post one, and it’s SO obvious: an ant hill in Gambia 🇬🇲

Alongside a wide river, a red rock hillside rises steeply (though not very high). There are trees and grass at its sloping foot, edging onto the river. Cattle are grazing on the slope.

The only geographical hill I saw in Gambia 🇬🇲 — the country is a long, thin, flat river plain, running either side of the River Gambia (and totally surrounded by Senegal — useful info for pub quizzes) .

My little #SundayPixHills rant: the “mountains” in Australia are titchy by world standards so I wish we used (or invented) other words that more accurately reflect the anthill proportions of our bumps. Dandenong Rise. Disappointment Summit. Bogong Blip. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😆

High moors, a pass between autumnal hills. The hills have been here for millenia, and are as old as they need to be. The pass gives them a smile, but the sky is not amused, being all grey and grismal

A gentle slope in open woodland in winter. Bare, gnarled little trees with no understory except a little sparse grass or moss.

In the foreground, the grassy dome of a low hill. The ground drops away abruptly, and beyond that a small town nestles into the lee of the hill, fading into flat farmland and occasional plantations. Over it all, a dramatic sky.

I come from Bedfordshire so I grew up considering this a big hill. You can see quite a long way from the top though #SundayPixHills

Pale blue sky merges with the far distant blue mountains, and a barely seen hawk floats in the breeze. A slightly closer, and lower, range is a dark green that edges the river. The woods show on this side of the river, leaving an empty rolling field in pale green, yellow, and oranges, surrounded by more trees. An unseen train was rumbling past as the photo was taken, and the breeze was scented with cold river water and the beginning of Autumn.
