Statue of the torsoes of a man, woman and child. The man has one arm lifted to the sky, the other around a woman. The woman is holding a child to her chest, looking downwards, and the child appears to be crying. The shore of the Gulf of Mexico is in the background, the sky is clear blue.

Travelled from New York to Washington on the Amtrak train whilst suffering with food poisoning. It was hell on earth. Got some meds at a pharmacy, took this photo then got a taxi back to the hotel. I / we were really unwell / wanted to die. π€’

The iconic Midland Hotel, Morecambe. An art deco masterpiece curving across the headland. In front is unfortunately a car park which would be fine with a Delahaye or two in it, but its less good with a Transit. In the foreground are gateposts like twizzly sandcastles
A skeletal sculpture of a a ship at Heysham, Lancashire. Metal figures sit at prow and stern. Behind the ship the grass drops to the beach and sea beyond. Across the bay you can just pick out the fells of the Lake District.
The alien spacecraft of the old Forton services (now Lancaster) on the M6. Rising like the concrete hexagon it is over the crappy Costa/Greggs complex beneath and the jumble of cars and electric charging points.
Some #SundayPixLandmark offerings from todays trip. Recognise any?

I've already posted one #SundayPixLandmark for @wombat37.bsky.social but having tried to resolve an issue with Bluesky not accessing photos and succeeding, here's another taken about 6 weeks later.
Under mostly-gray skies and backed by a stand of evergreen trees, a stonework column with a small observation deck up top rises just under 40 meters above a park on a mountain overlooking the mouth of the Columbia River (not pictured).
For #SundayPixLandmark please accept this 2006 somewhat-low-resolution pic of the Astoria Column out in Astoria on the Oregon coast. (Look, cameras were less powerful back then.)
Two women hugging on the beach in front of a conical tower with a red roof.
My lovely @justkristin.bsky.social and I liking it hot at Hotel Del Coronado.

Close up long view of a building in central London nick named the Walkie-talkie building as it bows at the top & looks like an old motorola portable phone. The side is grey slats on one side, & the edge & other sides all white giving that appearance. Opposite os a green living wall of plants.
Looking out of the window of the Sky Garden at the top of the Walkie-talkie buiding, at the tip of the 'Gherkin', a cigar-shaped glass building, with diamond-shaped windows, in a two-coloured (dark blue & white) spiral pattern. The city sprawls behind it & other buildings flank it.
Looking out of the window of the Sky Garden at the top of the Walkie-talkie buiding, at the top of the shard, a spiky-topped glass building, which is triangle-shaped & widens out as it goes down. The city sprawls behind it.
#SundayPixLandmark The Walkie-talkie (Fenchurch) building & views from the Sky Garden on the top of it, of the Gherkin & the Shard.
A lit up Nelsonβs Column (the bottom half) at night time.
I took this photo around 1.30am on a Tuesday in January 2018 after having been evacuated into Trafalgar Square because of a gas leak. There were about 200 of us in our pyjamas and a few people who had thought to get dressed before leaving. We didnβt get home for 14 hours. #SundayPixLandmark
