A photo taken from my back door step. It is night time in January 2026. The road and streetlights are shrouded with mist. In recent years the lampposts were replaced with LED lights that are directed down, with much reduced light pollution. Above the light is a line of trees, mostly silver birch and oaks. These are cast in silhouette. Shining above them is a diffused blob of red aurora. And sitting on top the stars bright against the darkness.
