#PermeablePaving is a technique used which falls within #SustainableDrainageSystems (#SuDS). It allows surface water to soak through into the ground, rather than run off into the drainage network.
To help manage #surfacewater on roads, highway #drainage assets can include roadside #gullies, underground pipes and #culverts, pumping stations, #soakaways, ditches, and #SustainableDrainageSystems (#SuDS) such as #swales. 🌧️

Lesson 10 part 1 covers #flood defences & flood schemes, focusing on how they can reduce flood risk. Pupils will also learn about flood resilience & the different types, such as Property Flood Resilience (#PFR)🏡and #SustainableDrainageSystems (#SuDS)💧🌱.

#ClimateChange is increasing the frequency of this kind of intense rainfall, and that means more risk of flash flooding in towns and cities.

Climate change is causing heavier rainfall and increasing the risk of #SurfaceWaterFlooding.
#SustainableDrainageSystems (#SuDS) help manage this by slowing down, storing, and soaking away excess rainwater, reducing pressure on drains and managing #flood risk.
🌿💧 It’s the start of our #SustainableDrainageSystems Focus Week! 💧🌿
This week, we’ll be sharing info on (#SuDS) and their role in managing #flooding. From the basics to real-life case studies, we’ll explore how SuDS help manage #flood risk and provide a range of additional benefits. 🌧️🏡
💧Looking forward to hearing more about #SustainableDrainageSystems during @thefloodhub.bsky.social #SuDS focus week next week.💧
