π Tree Swallow (Tachycineta bicolor) Tree swallows are small migratory birds with iridescent blue-green upperparts and stark white underparts. They breed across northern North America, from Alaska to the southern U.S., and migrate south to winter along the coasts of the U.S., Mexico, and Central America. They are highly acrobatic aerial insectivores, gliding more than other swallow species. They are social birds, forming large flocks during migration and winter, but are territorial during the breeding season when they nest in tree cavities or nest boxes. 2.5 Flash (Edited) Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1) π·: Photo by terski via Pixabay https://pixabay.com/photos/tree-swallows-swallows-birds-8062157/ VEUK
