I actually wrote about that in my first book! "Misunderstood: The Impact of Growing Up in the 21st Century" starts by examining those differences, then goes on to look at the TCK experience in the internet age. I did nearly 300 interviews and surveyed 750 #TCKs.

I'm not an expert in the research of #bilingual kids or #TCKs, but all 4 of my kids are fluently bilingual. What we've done is have each parent speak to the kid in their native language (my wife: Mandarin; me: English) and that's worked great.

What've you found helpful?

Kids who grow up with #expat parents (more properly called Third Culture Kids or #TCKs) often describe the sense of not knowing where home is.
