The week #5 film from Alicia Malone’s #TCMImportsTheBook was Ruben Östlund’s black comedy FORCE MAJEURE (2014) 📽️ about a family’s vacation in the French Alps is interrupted by an avalanche

It’s also the week #4 pick from #TCMImportsTheBook and yes I know I am very late in writing this post but there are good reasons why that happened

‘𝙴𝚟𝚎𝚗 𝚋𝚎𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚠𝚎 𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚕𝚍 𝚠𝚎 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚎𝚍 𝚋𝚢 𝚔𝚊𝚛𝚖𝚊’ - is the line that sets the tone for LADY SNOWBLOOD (1973) 📽️ This is Alicia Malone’s week #3 pick from #TCMImportsTheBook
Based on the manga by Kazuo Koike & Kazuo Kamimura and stars the wonderful Meiko Kaji as the deadly assassin Yuki.

At first glance IKIRU (1952)📽️ by Akira Kurasawa seems like a strange choice for a January film due to its depressing nature. January is a month of new beginnings and rebirth. Kanji Watanabe played by Takashi Shimura has reached the end of his life.
#TCMImportsTheBook Week #2

I think AMÉLIE (2001) by Jean-Pierre Jeunet is the perfect film to start the new year and I was thrilled to see it was entry #1 in Alicia Malone’s #TCMImportsTheBook.
In fact I think it’s a perfect movie 📽️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
