In some states, people with history of misdemeanor crimes of violence are restricted from owning firearms for a number of years. Guess what? Only 8 states have this law. But those states have seen a >20% decrease in intimate partner homicides.

States that extend restraining order firearm restriction to dating partners see a 13% decrease in gun deaths by intimate partner violence. So, why aren’t all states doing this?

The news media focuses on the mass shootings that occur in public. But a greater number of children die by family mass murders than those that occur in public. We need to pay more attention to domestic violence.
