Great to raise awareness regarding potential donor derived fungal infection , but I am concerned about the recommendation to check coccy serology on donors from endemic areas, which could lead to organ turndowns and discards. #TIDSky

I think studies of Steno treatment need to be performed carefully- even immunocompromised patients don't require treatment for positive respiratory cxs, and in this study that was almost half of all patients. Hard to evaluate impact of antibiotics choice in this setting #TIDSky #IDSky

Thanks for providing that detail. I do think shorter courses of therapy can be safe and effective for bacteremia in immunocompromised patients, but important to assess the level of immunocompromise in applying results from the general population to tx recipients, including HCT or lung tx #TIDSky

👍Fantastic study 👀 at whether #shorterisbetter in Neutropenic Bacteremia in adults. >80% GNB with almost 18% MDRO, profound neutropenia in 83% of enrollees & post therapy Abx PPX in 65%. Adequate source control in 70%-100%. No diff in relapse or ☠️ if <10 vs > 10 ABX days. #IDSky #TIDSky
