Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.61%
Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Glass, Plastic and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.61% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ennostar Inc (TW:3714), which rose 10.00% or 3.50 points to trade at 38.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiwan Glass Ind Corp (TW:1802) added 10.00% or 3.40 points to end at 37.40 and Avision Inc (TW:2380) was up 10.00% or 0.50 points to 5.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Roo Hsing Co Ltd (TW:4414), which fell 8.12% or 0.95 points to trade at 10.75 at the close. Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) declined 5.52% or 9.50 points to end at 162.50 and Gem Terminal Industry Co Ltd (TW:2460) was down 4.67% or 0.85 points to 17.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Taiwan Glass Ind Corp (TW:1802) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 10.00% or 3.40 to 37.40.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.87% or 0.54 to $62.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.76% or 0.50 to hit $66.29 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 8.15 to trade at $3,366.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.41% to 30.26, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.29% to 0.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 98.21.
