VHS Shaped Shell, Metal Particle Tape. Decks were backwards compatible with VHS & S-VHS Playback

Didn’t hang round long as D-VHS, Digital HD, came along in 1998

There’s also multiple separate recordings, each with Splicing Tape that has dried out

Alesis Digital Audio Tape 1992-2003.
Studio Pro Format.
Used S-VHS Video Tape.
8 Tracks - 16 Bit, later 20 Bit.
Tape thundered thru Mech, with an E120 giving 40 mins.

It was noisy, clunky and temperamental. But it worked.

Getting hard to maintain decks now.
