#TapirTuesday was also a #TapirTwofer as Bananas visited me after this female who seems to be lactating. She was very pregnant in February and the gossip in the neighborhood is that she has her calf.

For #TapirTuesday here are Tuah's tapir toes. Tuah is the new male tapir at #WoodlandParkZoo he's part of the Species Survival Plan a vital part of saving genetic diversity in endangered species.

Kazu the Malayan tapir when he was a very young baby. He's standing on grass with his mouth open vocalizing. His body is black and grey with white stripes and dots. These markings are unique to every baby and will fade as the tapir ages until they are just black and white.

This is Kazu the Malayan tapir as a little watermelon in 2019. He was telling everyone about everything in this photo (it's one of my favorites). He'll soon be a big brother as his mom Yuna is expected to deliver at any time now.

Sempurna has such dainty tapir toes. Tapirs are an integral part of their ecosystems. They help churn the soil, fertilize, and deposit seeds as they travel from place to place.
