I agree positive feedback matters. When we start by highlighting what the student did right, we build confidence. Often students feel teachers only focus on mistakes and that shuts them down. Positive feedback goes along way in helping them stay motivated. #TeacherEd #grading.

#diverselearners teachers can better serve differently gifted students by giving them ownership of their own learning. #TeacherEd

Creating an inclusive learning environment starts with understanding student skills and interests. Art lessons that capture student interest and provide choices, can challenge gifted learners and still be accessible to students who need support. #TeacherEd #diverselearners

My #TeacherEd students will be fascinated by this thread, surely.

I relate to this a lot. I don’t use “boys and girls” either when addressing my class. I usually just say “class” or use students’ names when calling on someone specifically. I think those small language choices really shape the classroom environment more than we realize. #teachered #diverselearners

To build a culturally responsive classroom, teachers need to connect learning to students’ backgrounds and experiences. Like creating space for students to share their ideas, using group work, and encouraging discussion so students feel included and respected. #TeacherEd #diverselearners

To build a culturally responsive classroom, a teacher must establish an inclusive classroom where everyone is respected and part of the community. Sharing perspectives and values allows students to learn from one another and expand their understanding of other cultures. #TeacherEd #diverselearners

A teacher who understands learning differences does not teach to the imaginary “average” kid in the middle. They watch closely, question their own assumptions, vary how students access learning, & make sure difference is treated as information, not a defect. #TeacherEd #diverselearners

Teachers have a daily influence over how students develop their understanding of gender. If we want them to feel acknowledged & respected, we must practice; being aware of our own biases, seeking out ways to modify our behavior, and updating our educational materials. #TeacherEd #diverselearners

I definitely agree with your method. Even if you're offering gentle constructive criticism to a student, most people are more receptive to feedback when it starts with a positive. #TeacherEd #grading

As a teacher, I provide feedback that highlights strengths first, guides improvement step by step, and supports each student’s growth. #TeacherED #grading

Q: How would you describe a teacher who is aware of learning differences in their classroom? #TeacherEd #diverselearners
A: Effective teachers begin by learning who their students are. By knowing your students, you can offer differentiated learning opportunities that meet students where they are.

Yes - same here. Feedback should be timely, specific and nice. We encourage them to continue improving in our feedback loop. #TeacherEd #grading

In elementary art the primary goal is exposure to the materials and processes over the final product. When providing feedback my focus is to ensure safety with the tools and guide them to follow the required steps. I do this with positive feedback and step reminder prompts. #TeacherEd #grading

Did you have test anxiety as a kid? Do you have it now? Did a teacher or anyone help you deal with it? #TeacherEd #Testanxiety #stereotypethreat

I agree. I’ve noticed that when I highlight what they did well first, they’re more willing to improve. I also try to make the “improve” part specific and use a revision checklist, so they know exactly what to work on next. #TeacherEd #grading

Agree 100%. I also end my feedback with something positive. Students are always going to be revising, editing, rewriting, etc. so it makes sense to me that providing encouragement along the way will yield more student ownership over their education. #TeacherEd #grading

A. In the beginning when I first started teaching, I was saying "boys and girls". That's not the right way, and I catch myself when I say it. I now say "friends" when speaking to the whole class for my 3rd graders #teachered #diverselearners

I think starting with a positive feedback and then sliding into what needs to improve is the best way for me. I start by saying this was great but then move on to maybe we can work on this a little more. If i start with just the negative, the student will shut down. #feedback #TeacherEd #grading
