5 pm. Frigid outside. Four 10- and 11-year-old girls run up to me, yelling in French, « Madame, Madame! French or English? ». Both, I say. They ask me in EN which Christmas movie I prefer, Elf or Home Alone. I 🖤 such random interactions with children in public space. They’re too rare. #teamelf
