Finally, we had Emma Barnard on using ‘Drug Affinity Responsive Target Stability (DARTS) as a method of evaluating glutathione transferases (GST) as drug targets within Fasciola hepatica'. #TeamFluke …you did great, even though I scuppered this project with the quality of my pronase! #Sorry
Followed up by Amelia Smalley on the 'Exploration of Programmed Cell Death Protein 6 in Fasciola hepatica reveals a new potential drug target.' #TeamFluke Great finding out 3 clades of PCDP6 (PCDP6A, PCDP6B, and PCDP6C).
Next up was Oliver Malone on the 'First confirmation of Glyoxalase I activity in enriched Glyoxalase domain-containing protein 4 in Liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica'. #LlyngyrYTîm ( #TeamFluke in Welsh). Some really exciting work detecting activity!
Followed by @esmelogan.bsky.social on the 'Identification and Characterisation of Vacuolar Protein Sorting 13 as a Potential Novel Therapeutic Target in Fasciola Species'. #TeamFluke Excellent work finding four novel VPS13s in F. hepatica and five in F. gigantica!
First up was Rioja Clayton on 'Identification and Characterisation of Three Novel Sulfotransferases in Fasciola Species as Potential Drug Targets for Fascioliasis Treatment.' #TeamFluke Great job on identifying group 2 and 4/1 like SULTs.
