Somehow I completely missed when #teardown2025 talks went live - here's mine on navigating battery regulations. Bonus butts in one of my slides. 😏 Also, the CFP for Teardown 2026 ends on the 15th so get your proposal in! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwUG...
#Teardown2025 was our best year ever. I helped with so many wonderful workshops and taught a workshop myself, using my EMF Explorer Badge soldering board to explore electromagnetic frequencies. Thanks to all the epic folks who taught workshops and attendees who helped make it a success.
My talk from @crowdsupply.bsky.social Teardown 2025 on conference badges has been released. I'm excited to share it with y'all. #electronics #teardown2025

three stickers, one is on holo material is rectangular and says "you can just make a circuit board and no one can stop you", another is on round pink holo material and says "do or diy trying" and features a skull, hammer, bent wrench, and soldering iron, the last is on rectangular holo material and says "let's make some motherfucking bacon" with a cartoon line drawing of a very cute pig.
Stickers! At #teardown2025 @clomads.bsky.social and I coerced a bunch of people into buying a $10 thermal label printer, and now I have a repo up for the sticker designs I was giving out. 1/2
Check out my #Teardown2025 talk! How I turned a DIY tool into a global open hardware product with 3,000+ users & $315K raised on Crowd Supply in just one year, with no big team or budget. If you're planning to crowdfund your own hardware, this might help. youtu.be/UeLW7RyTq3Y?... #Openterface
I was talking to someone at #teardown2025 about an online split keyboard generator that i said i'd look up and share but i cannot for the life of me remember who! so for whoever you are: ryanis.cool/dactyl/#manu...
Still coming down from the high and recovering from @crowdsupply.bsky.social #teardown2025! It's the best hacker con, so many cool things but it's the amazing people that make it so great. Thanks to @helenleigh.bsky.social and the entire Crowd Supply team for making it so welcoming & inclusive.
A table with various art and technology projects.
It was our first time at Teardown. Thanks to all the amazing people who came by. It was so great to meet new friends and connect over art and tech. Thanks a bunch, #TearDown2025
I still need to upload #teardown2025 my talk slides, definitely going to, just been recovering from the trip!
Alex's sketchbook, with black pen + blue/green/yellow marker, held above the iconic PDX carpet. Panel 1: “Gremlin charge across the rainy bridge (for puzzle hunt clues)” – Deranged-looking Alex with big boots, skeleton overalls, and massive backpack, doing exactly that, with more chill team members in the distance. Panel 2: “Yelling about manicure kit as hardware tools… repeatedly…” – Beady-eyed Alex pointing emphatically down at the 2 clippers (for wire cutting & stripping), small scissors, file, tweezers, and metal spudger, secured with elastic in their little case. Panel 3: “Jabberwocky-off at Autodesk roof party” – the back of Alex flailing in the foreground; Morgan reciting in the background. “OH FRABJOUS DAY etc.” Panel 4: Slide says “Acoustic vests and bracelets”; label says “Fully crumpling after reading this as ‘acoustic breasts’ during my talk” – podium in the foreground, with a balled-up Alex behind it on the floor.
On the way home & discovered it's #MakeATerribleComicDay ! So here are a few cartoon-character highlights from #Teardown2025...
1 – Puzzle hunt gremlin charge!
2 – I LOVE my travel HW kit (cheap manicure tools).
3 – 2+ *other* nerds have Jabberwocky memorized?!
4 – Fetal position during my talk 🙃

I had a great time @crowdsupply.bsky.social #teardown2025 . Thanks to everyone who told me you liked my battery talk or panel words of DEFINITELY NOT ADVICE 😜. I can’t believe it’s already over! I was terrible at taking pictures except for these - faces from Sat night that turned into stickers.
Laser cut box holding a receipt printer with four input buttons. Printer has an ongoing narrative with multiple choices on display. Paper scroll reads: The Choosatron Deluxe Adventure Matrix v1.0.8 by Jerry Belich - choosatron.com @j3rrytron - jerrytron.com 1. Inking Tattoo 2. Bones and What They Mean 3. Eyes That Watch 4. A Very, Very, VERY Scary House
I got to play a game on Jerry Belich's Choosatron with story by @cyborgurl.bsky.social on a thermal printer at #teardown2025 and it was delightful.

Good name for a tech group/collective/project from a phrase by @alexglow.bsky.social at #Teardown2025: Overlapping Nerds.
Was talking to a guy yesterday at #Teardown2025 about cyberpunk since he saw my author's copy of The Big Book of Cyberpunk. He said he gets depressed reading dystopian stories. I said I feel the same way when I read the news.
@alexglow.bsky.social now on stage at @crowdsupply.bsky.social #Teardown2025 talking about mind altering gadgets 🤖🧠💖

The intent is to promote STEAM, makers, etc., and be a "parent-friendly" zone which is a higher bar than "kids-safe".
Adjacent: #teardown2025 for the win!
Slides from by #teardown2025 talk are posted at slides.com/unwiredben/c... which includes the videos I couldn't show from the PDF used live. It doesn't have my commentary on the different badges or the useful conversation with audience members that I had after.
