Special prayers were held at Tirumala, Srisailam, Vijayawada and Bhadrachalam temples.​ People offered special prayers, decorated the entrances of their houses and shops with strings of mango leaves, savoured traditional food, and listened to the 'panchangnam' (almanack) to usher in the New Year.​

Telangana, Andhra agree to form committee to address river water issues New Delhi, July 16 (SocialNews.XYZ) Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have decided to constitute a committee to address all issues concerning Godavari and Krishna river water. The committee will comprise senior officials, engineers and experts from both the Telugu states. The committee will be formed in next 3-4 days and it will come out with a way forward on all issues in 30 days.

Bodies of six youngsters who drowned in the Medigadda barrage across the Godavari River in Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalapally district on Saturday were recovered on Sunday. Three students of Class 10 drowned in a lake in the Alluri Sitharamaraju district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

Notifications issued for elections to 10 MLC seats in Telangana, Andhra Hyderabad/Amaravati, March 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday issued notifications for biennial elections to five Legislative Council seats each in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Members of the Legislative Assembly in both Telugu states will elect the MLCs on March 20. As per the schedule announced by the ECI, nominations can be filed till March 10 while scrutiny of nominations will be taken up on March 11.

Notification issued for elections to six MLC seats in Telangana, Andhra Hyderabad, Feb 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Election Commission of India on Monday issued notification for elections to three seats each of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Legislative Councils scheduled on February 27. This set in motion the process for filing of nominations for the elections from graduates’ and teachers’ constituencies.
