According to data on the Intercontinental Exchange, day-ahead and real-time on-peak prices at the ERCOT North Hub dropped by more than $20 per megawatt-hour (MWh), with prices settling around $19/MWh and $18.75/MWh, respectively. This downward trend was partly due to anticipated rising temperatures in South Texas, with a red flag warning issued across the region, as well as a widespread freeze forecast for the Southeast, which may drive up electricity demand during its peak hours.
