The Texas Forward Party State Executive Committee has appointed Attorney John Flud to serve as the Harris County Chair of the Forward Party on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026. Flud is a two-time graduate of Houston Christian University, previously known as Houston Baptist University, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors for his Bachelor’s of Arts in 2011 and his Master’s of Arts in 2013. Flud completed his J.D. with Summa Cum Laude honors at South Texas College of Law in 2018 where he was a member of Delta Theta Phi. Having earned three degrees from within the Houston city limits, Flud said the focus of the county party under his leadership will be on local elections.
