Slab of likely 1960s concretion with brown tiles, probably from a wall but could be floor. Posed in my hand on the Thames Foreshore at low tide, the Shard and London Bridge in the distance.

Yeah. Not a slab of chocolate but concretion with brown tiles, and definitely has a 1960s interior décor look, if you ask me. The river has forever been used as a dustbin for building rubble, whether Roman or from the modern era #Mudlark #ThamesForeshore

From a recent mudlarking trip to the Thames Foreshore, a lovely piece of worked bone with a hole drilled in the centre. My guess is 18th/19th century because of the location, but I have no idea what it might have been used for, perhaps a gaming piece? Ideas welcome 1/ #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

Blue on white pottery sherd found on the Thames Foreshore & showing a gent dressed in a Grecian style toga, lounging nonchalantly on a stone seat.

Hot weather style goalz. Ten out of ten for nonchalant lounging in a Grecian toga & styling it out with a dinky bracelet #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

The Thames Foreshore next to Waterloo Bridge at low tide. Someone has clearly thrown a square coffee table into the river, where it lies on its side in the mud and gravel.

The sun is *finally* making an appearance after a week of anticyclonic gloom. Hurrah! Meanwhile up on the embankment restaurant staff are putting up Christmas decorations while I wait for the tide to go out #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

George III silver sixpence & a furriers’ hook. Both found close together on the #ThamesForeshore for the simple reason that the river groups finds together by weight, and metal attracts metal, so you never know when that unprepossessing pile of rusting ships’ nails will yield something nice #mudlark

Proper bucket list find for me from the #ThamesForeshore yesterday. The exciting glint of gold revealing my first complete (though ever so slightly squished) thimble. Not real gold, obvs, but copper alloy, the colour beautifully preserved in anaerobic (oxygen free) river mud 1/

Thames treasure. Buttons, pins, pin-ties, agate, aglet & a tiny white fossilised crinoid ossicle that I originally thought was a bead. Also, a pouty lip-shaped oyster shell to display my beauties #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

Well, the weather escalated quickly today in SW London. From a breezy, blowsy blue to steel grey skies, fierce wind and torrential downpours. As you were, Spring, as you were #Mudlark #ThamesForeshore

Moody scenes from the #ThamesForeshore across the last four damp weeks. Spanning SW London to the City, most of my photos are untouched but *coughs* I do admit to the occasional use of an Instagram filter for dramatic effect

Foreshore finds from this week. Inks, other bottles, marbles, pottery sherds, clay pipe bowl. Also, lots and lots of plastic vapes, far more than pictured here. I always try to pick up as many as I can when mudlarking and dispose of them properly #Mudlark #ThamesForeshore
