Not enough people have read this book.
Stories are vital as we imagine a way through the coming decades & how we might build a survivable world for our kids.
And this epic - arguably one of the Great American Novels - unflinchingly tackles our predicament head on.
Highly recommended!

I'm only 2/3s through this #SpeculativeFiction book by #StephenMarkley, it has proved to be a shockingly accurate prediction of the future. Published in Jan 23, it has an incredibly prescient description of megafires in Los Angeles.

I experienced this shock when reading #TheDeluge: that increase climate-related natural disaster would not necessarily provoke a constructive collective reaction for common survival, but rather a zero-sum-game grab-it-all zeigeist with, as a consequence, a rise in egoism and fascism.
