L'oppression sociale et l'obscurantisme frappent les femmes de plein fouet dans #TheDevilsBath, dont le message dépasse très largement le simple cadre du film d'époque. Une esthétique soignée et une grande dureté morale en fond un bel exemple de l'horreur au service de la dénonciation.

Anja Plaschg (of Soap&Skin fame) gives an absolutely tremendous lead performance in #TheDevilsBath, slowly unraveling as depression and despair eat away at her character's sanity.
And yes, her soundtrack for the film is great too.
My perspective is probably skewed by having seen (and fallen in love with) two earlier 2024 films that do pretty much the same things #Nosferatu does, but in a more uncompromising way.
For dreamlike hell of repression, check #TheFirstOmen.
For cold period-accurate dread, check #TheDevilsBath.
