We're always a bit 'prepper' since I got cancer and had to go extremely frugal. Now I have a nose for upcoming shortages & likely price hikes.
We were SO chill when Covid came along.
Our small petrol tank is full and we're being gas/petrol energy frugal again. Always on Solar.

I LOVE the 'Become Untariffable' call. #TheFrugalistbook We're a bit 'prepper' but just to smooth out the craziness.

👏Travelling with 2 merino wool T shirts, 3 pairs of merino socks, knickers & one pair of extra trousers means all our flights are MUCH cheaper. If you do ever buy clothes, make sure its merino. Doesn't absorb sweat smells. I'm asking for Merino leggings for my next B'day! #TheFrugalistBook

Yep we had to be frugal to write. we still need to be frugal a bit longer. Being a self Pub author is the height of delayed gratification! every year another book. Every book another trickle income. But we never want to have to "get a proper job". #TheFrugalistBook

I don't suppose Pret a Manger or Starbucks etc are thanking him for this. When neoliberalism reaches end-stage and you insult your own struggling upper-working and middle class customers ... just to make it easier to sow division. #TheFrugalistBook

Start Small! When I had to go incredibly frugal because of almost no income #BladderCancerStoriesBook I bought ONE money saving big buy per month. The first month it was celeriac powder. Wow we never stopped using it! After a year I had 12 items that I never paid full price for #TheFrugalistBook

Our back-up inverter-generator arrived! I KNEW we could find a frugal way out of the few switch-off days a year without having to buy loads more batteries & panels & STILL risking long sun-free periods. Just over 300 euros (ouch) but buyable in one frugal month. Xmas is saved!🎄 #TheFrugalistBook

That's not that far from my life. Although I admit that my sofa is from Ikea and I only recently purchased a nice coloured cover for it after having a cream one for 19 yrs...at 60 euros, so less than half the usual price. 😜
So the answer is Sofa. #TheFrugalistBook

Actually those machines don't make much for your money the replacement gas bottles are ludicrously expensive. For me, sadly, its cheaper to buy fizzy water and add fruit juice. #TheFrugalistBook

Nope! As a pensioner its just about what I get in total for each day so that's one of my days out of my month's income totally used up. Means NO MORE MONEY that day for heating, electricity, gas, food etc. I can get 2 flights for 30 euros, or five years worth of celeriac powder. 😆 #TheFrugalistBook

My fave frugal tip is a soup maker. Honestly soup tastes fab from a soup maker. Dried veggie powders (esp Celery root powder) added to whatever you can get cheap, plus onions (Fried first- some soup makers do that). Salt pepper chilis onions garlic. Would Go SO well with yr bread! #TheFrugalistbook

Frugal life in a pueblo! Giving, receiving & preserving food gluts. There is nothing healthy about 'big food' & living in cities (it's just profitable for big money!)Yesterday tomatoes & aubergines. Today Bok choi lettuce, & lime & tequila marmalade🤗 #TheFrugalistBook #VillageLife #CaringAndSharing

Hahaha. Try 10 - 15 thou for 2 of us (That's now... less some years!). Admittedly no rent to pay. #TheFrugalistBook

I used to avoid Temu and Ali express because I wanted to shop in support of my country. Now I realise that buying online doesn't get local or cheap and just fills JBs pockets for exactly the same goods. So I just buy from China anyway. The only difference is. No middleman. #Frugal #TheFrugalistBook

People equate wealth with 'class' but there are two meanings to the word. Trump and Musk are in the moneyed 'class'. The other meaning however, they can never reach. They sure can spend on tasteless shit & turn useful things like Twitter, and the Whitehouse... crass. #FrugalClass #TheFrugalistBook

Hahaha Frugal! I wonder what 4 fillets of sole and a bag of shallots will set me back. 900g of Panga and an onion about a fiver (euros. I'm in Spain). #TheFrugalistBook Love the posts though.

😂🤣 Not in this case. People imagine erroneously that all do. That went with 6 yrs pension. Where they have they should use it wisely. I remember a time when I had spending power. Yes I was about 50... Had 'spending power' for one year before the crash took half of what I had.

ALL over! These 'how awful frugalism is' posts. No wonder I get targeted bad ratings for my book. They are afraid of cheapskates!😂 That just motivates me more. I'm happy with what I have (up to a point) They most definitely aren't. 'MORE' consumes them! #TheFrugalistBook

Personally I'd be very happy to receive thrift shop gifts if they are appropriate & thoughtful. Actually those are the important parameters for ANY gift buying. I LOVE a bargain. I love Frugal and I love sustainable. If you'll only appreciate new, you could be part of the problem #TheFrugalistBook

We're off grid, and our bedroom is cold at the moment. Yesterday was part of 'black week' I didn't realise but nipped into the men's department of Springfield to take a look. After all my pension increase was just announced. 2 half price 100% cotton hoodies worth! I'll take that! #TheFrugalistBook

My car passed its ITV! (Spanish technical inspection) Third year in a row it's passed! So grateful! This is phenomenal because it's 25 yrs old and bits of it are pretty dilapidated. But good engine good tires good brakes 2000 Ford Fiesta with a zetec engine = Ultra frugal car. #TheFrugalistBook

While scrolling, if you see something you like advertised in this gift buying season. The same thing is probably half the price on Amazon and even a quarter on Temu. They are all made in the same Chinese Factory. The difference? Middleman profit #TheFrugalistBook NEVER enter yr card at first sight!

I 'hoarded' my car from the year 2000. Not sure it will pass its technical inspection tomorrow though. Need to sell a lot more copies of #TheFrugalistBook #OhFFS! and all my craft books. Lovely engine in a Ford Fiesta Zetec but her body has aged ... like mine.

Putting money away for retirement? Ask yourself if putting it into solar power is a better bet. Especially if retirement is in the fairly near future. You pay not much more for your solar set up over 3 to 5 yrs than for your bills. A great investment! Off grid,- no tie in is best #TheFrugalistBook

My son has often bought me Xmas gifts at TK Maxx & they have always turned out to be really top quality. So I get twice the gift. Proud Frugal mum! #TheFrugalistBook.
Oh yeah treat yourself to my REAL FRUGAL book for Xmas or just get it on Kindle unlimited. Enjoy being frugal instead of hating it!

I see people trying to make big money jumping on the back of frugal 'trends'. Follow the real frugalists who LIVE the life & are actually happy with what they have. Some want your frugality to make them rich!! ?? F*** That!
No thanks to 'Big Frugal Business'. #TheFrugalistBook #Frugalcontentment

Great tip. We make our own dried veggie powders.
Lasts better than dried veggies un-powdered. You can even freeze veggie powder!

Give me ideas on what to do with a lime harvest (glut) please. I don't like to eat a lot of limes as they seem to give me a bad stomach. And I don't eat a lot of jam. But I love the flavour and the perfume. I already made Lime Juice Indian pickle and a lime ferment. #TheFrugalistBook
