While I was still hammering out Bab’s sona design to pair with LQG, I was in a huge MTG phase. Not with the cards - just Nico Bolas and specifically, his horns. I just knew I wanted them to be tall and big. He’s changed since this one too, and I like where we eventually settled.

I used to be so proud of this one too, I might revisit it one day. Lich Queen Gael’s crown originally was a skull of some beast, but it became very cumbersome to keep drawing each time. Plus I’ve learned to much more about rendering since this.

I do miss doing little challenges like this one; this is when I was trying to learn Procreate and then decided the brush engine and feel just weren’t for me. I’m too CSP-pilled, but I loved the way this one turned out color-wise!
