When my husband and I were going through foster parent training, it was recommended that we read "A Child Called It". The book was brutal and nearly unimaginable.
Today, I finished #thehouseofmymother by Shari Franke. It reminded me of the brutality and pain of #achildcalledit. 🧵/
It's ironic that the journey to recovery from a lifetime of exploitation by a social media-obsessed, abusive mother involves writing a book that explores the same situation from a different perspective. I do understand the healing it does. Fantastic read.
