Mega paving activities happening in W Oakland around Raimondi Park on Campbell, Willow, 18th, and 20th Streets. 18th & 20th are in the bike plan so I’m checking to see what upgrades they’re getting, if any. #TheSmoothening
Paving has also been completed on Webster St, 40th to W MacArthur, traffic calming will be added next. And underway on Racine St north of Telegraph. Racine was originally built as the connector road to the Vicente Peralta ranch & is among the oldest in Oakland. #TheSmoothening

#TheSmoothening top coat paving now underway on Telegraph Ave in Oakland, 20th St to W Grand Ave. This & restriping work will continue northward through September, including a full grind/pave from 27th to 29th Streets.
38th St and Cerrito Ave were also finally paved, between Broadway & 40th. This block of 38th was previously one of the lowest ranked pavement conditions in Oakland with a score of 4 points. Out of 100. #TheSmoothening
New Bellevue Ave road diet + bike lane going in soon following paving, Perkins to Grand. A 2-way cycletrack will follow eventually but even the paint is significant as this part of Bellevue was Oakland’s 1st bike lane, striped in the 70s but removed in 2000. #TheSmoothening

Partial paving done on Brookdale in Oakland from Fruitvale to just past Coolidge. More (I think) on the way out to 35th Ave after a utility project wraps up. Definitely need the speed humps back ASAP @OakDOT, as without them #TheSmoothening has led to lots more speeding.
