Inspired by the Oscar's tribute to Rob Reiner, I watched #TheSureThing (1985) for the first time. What separates this from the 80's Brat Pack-style sex comedies is its heart. It's very grounded and sentimental. John Cusack's performance is incredibly endearing.

It’s actually #TheSureThing, a charming road trip romance carried by then-newbies John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga. If you’re looking for a Reiner film you haven’t seen, + a holiday movie, this one’s a sure thing.
