What tipped me off that #TheWickerManRemake is a parody of the beloved 1973 original? When the end credits hilariously said “For #JohnnyRamone”. This will piss off the fans of the original - but I’m adding the remake to my list of films I love (and the original didn’t make it onto that list). Ⓐ

So tonight I watched the Unrated Cut of #TheWickerManRemake, and THEN the Theatrical Cut. While watching the Theatrical Cut, I became increasingly convinced that the remake is a parody of the 1973 original. Does the movie “work” as parody? After thinking it over - I say YES. Ⓐ
