Managed #theWinterTen on today's litter pick, with a dozen species in flower. Highlights were Sweet Violets (Viola odorata), my 1st Primrose (Primula vulgaris) of the year, ever-reliable Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and what I suspect is Common Whitlow-grass (Erophila verna agg). #WildflowerHour
Dandelion wiltling with frost, growing from rubble at foot of sloping wall.
Because of doing #NewYearPlantHunt last couple of days, I've definitely now met #TheWinterTen challenge for #WildFlowerHour tomorrow. So much so I can afford to share one early!
Look at this dandelion frozen in bud before it could bloom!
A grid showing close-ups of 10 different plants in flower. Top row left to right: a bright yellow dandelion in flower on the village playing field, a white daisy with yellow centre, a red valerian with wet glossy leaves, a pink red deadnettle. Middle row: hazel catkins and primroses open already looking spring like Bottom row: clusters of small flowers of white and red yarrow, a bright green petty spurge, and a white deadnettle.

View looking down the river to the sea at Golden hour - one boat left lower middle and sun shining on bank. Fluffy clouds in blue sky
Black cat at sea (close up) with yellow eyes, in her buoyancy aid and harness
Cat's Ear flowers and leaves hard to see but only one flower for each stem, more like a Nipplewort flower but without the branching.
A few small flowers of Nipplewort - photo take at night so colours a bit unusual. Autumn leaves brown on the ground behind the flowers
The #thewinterten for #WildFlowerHour impossible today as sailed instead. 2 by car headlamp: Nipplewort & Cat's Ear which seems pretty apt as we had Tammy sailor #cat with us! Will return to Cat's-ear in daylight to check.
