Changes in How We Protest We’ve reviewed what has been working best for us over the time we have been supporting Pa/estine in its fight for freedom and justice, and have made some changes to ensure that during 2026 we continue to support their cause in as effective way as possible We’re all aware that the ceasefire is a farce and the so called Peace Plan can only aggravate an already dire situation for the Pa/estinians While we have won over public opinion, and we have had success with our BDS actions, we need to shift now to challenging the echelons of political power We will continue to have rallies, BDS actions and Flag Waving Fridays To enable us to be more flexible and to take the BDS actions to more locations, we will now have a more impactful rally on the first Saturday of each month, beginning on the 7th of February On the intervening Saturdays, following on from the successful more informal gatherings over the summer break, we will be having a stall at the Bridge of Remembrance at 1.00pm BDS actions will also take place on the intervening Saturdays at 11.00am at various locations around the city. This change allows us to continue our well known BDS actions in a more flexible way, protesting at a wider variety of stores that stock items on our boycott list We will also be taking advantage of this flexibility to protest against imperialism wherever we find it in our city, which will give us an opportunity to work with other like-minded groups in Ōtautahi Keep an eye on our social media, join our Instagram Channel (link in our bio) and sign up for the email newsletter at a rally, Flag Waving, or on our website (see our bio)
