The sun peeks through the branches of a set of tall thin pine trees planted in a local wood in Surrey on the border with Sussex. The foreground has been cleared of other trees, leaving stumps on the forest floor, which is covered in dead leaves and pine needles. The lower trunks of the trees are bare but the tops are covered in greenery.
