The Owls Club was a Black women's softball team formed in the late 1930s in Seattle.
The Owls won the first women's Washington State Softball Championship in 1938.
The team, renamed the Brown Bombers, won the Championship again in 1939.

During Black History Month we honor Ruby Brown. In 1950, she became one of the first black women to manage a no-kill animal care facility. She ran NHES' Peace Plantation Animal Sanctuary for 30+ years until her death in 1984. nhes.org/about/7881-2/

Sybil Smith is regarded as the best swimmer in Boston U. history. She was named a first-team All-American and became the first African-American female swimmer in Division I to achieve this feat. To date, she is still the only All-American female swimmer in school history. Link ⬇️
