One of the first marine #OilSpills (#paraffin) was #ThisDayInHistory in 1907, when #ThomasWLawson wrecked off the coast of #Cornwall, #UK. The largest #SailingShip ever built without a backup engine, she was a steel-hulled, seven-masted #schooner, and too heavy to be profitable.
