Three California quail are very attentive, vigilant, with the characteristic curled feather on their heads, standing on a tree branch amidst scrub vegetation. The background is vegetation in shades of brown and green.

Three California quail on guard. They were introduced to Chile and live freely on San Cristóbal Hill in Santiago. It was a pleasure to see them among the bushes every time I walked along the hill's trails.
