The ticket says Highlander but I'm pretty sure this would have been for Highlander II: The Quickening, which Is a shame because Highlander is brilliant, whilst Highlander II: The Quickening is widely regarded as one of the worst films ever made.

Don’t think you’re allowed to like Gérard Depardieu films anymore, but I remember liking this one at the time.

Having just completed the US iVISA form process, I’m not entirely sure why anyone would want to put themselves through that.

Another directorial debut, this time from National Treasure and classically trained luvvy Kenneth Branagh. Shakespeare has never really been my thing, so I’m fairly sure the battle scenes carried me through this one.

The Who was probably my earliest favorite band. It was about 20 years between the first time I thought I'd like to see this band live and when I finally saw them. They did not disappoint! 😄

Hard to believe now, but we were almost as excited about Dick Tracy as we were about Batman. All the ingredients were there. Somehow it still fell flat. Wikipedia claims it has a cult following — I’m not convinced.

Another film that I remember receiving a lot of buzz at the time. Probably because it had New Romantics playing the infamous twins. Bille Whitelaw was great in this but it did rather glamourise gangsters.

I caught them twice at the Robertson Memorial Fieldhouse at Bradley University in Peoria, IL... April 22, '71, and March 18, '77. Excellent show every time! :)

Reading the Wikipedia page now, this really doesn’t sound like my kind of thing at all. Probably another example of me trying to boost my art student credentials.

I have a very distinct memory of laughing really hard at this in the cinema. Recently watched the John Candy documentary on Netflix. What a lovely man.

With this cast and Sidney Lumet directing, you’d expect a classic for the ages.

Instead, I’d wager most people haven’t even heard of Family Business.
